ASAM-II project

University of York research project, early 1990s, in which Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) originated — per the GSN Community Standard's own account of its history, predating by several years the better-documented Toulmin engagement in Tim Kelly's 1998 D.Phil formalization. Not a Toulmin-free origin: the Standard places Toulmin's influence in GSN's early development, not among its later refinements. Watching stub: first surfaced 2026-09-03; the underlying founding paper (Wilson, McDermid, Fenelon & Kirkham, "No More Spineless Safety Cases," INEC'95) has not yet been read directly by this vault. Graduate to a full hub if that paper is read, or if ASAM-II recurs in a future capture.
