Southern Poverty Law Center's Extremist Files — a Tier-3 advocacy organization.
The two most load-bearing quotes ("group differences, as far as we know, are in
the DNA," at the 2009 Preserving Western Civilization conference; and the
"eugenics" characterization at the 2011 H.L. Mencken Club) are reproduced by SPLC
as verbatim but were not checked against a primary record. Per the sourcing floor,
a contested biographical claim about a named person should be corroborated at
Tier 1–2.

- **The 2009 Preserving Western Civilization talk.** Find the conference program,
  any recording, or contemporaneous reporting that confirms Harpending spoke,
