Tymshare's packet-switched network, distinct from the SDS-940 timesharing operating system, entering the vault via Norman Hardy's "Origins of Tymnet" essay and Ann Hardy's own account of a later 940-host/network integration change she wrote. Watching for recurrence — LaRoy Tymes's design and the network's 1971 spin-off cutover are both named further leads in the source capture, not yet independently read.
