French piano manufacturer that built harpsichords incorporating "a solid steel frame similar to the modern grand pianos of the time," most famously the "Grand Modèle de Concert" made in collaboration with Wanda Landowska and introduced at the 1912 German Bach Festival in Breslau. Matters to this vault as the maker of record behind the exemplar instrument of the piano-derived harpsichord-revival construction paradigm — a piano company whose grand-piano engineering logic got poured, largely unmodified, into a different instrument.
