Joshua Milne

British actuary who built the Carlisle Table of Mortality (1815), the table that succeeded Richard Price's Northampton table as the actuarial profession's standard reference. Matters to this vault's early-life-assurance cluster as the second of two predecessor-table authors William Sutton wrote a retrospective methodological critique of for the Journal of the Institute of Actuaries — Price in 1874, Milne in 1883 — placing Milne directly alongside Price in the same lineage of superseded standard mortality tables this vault already tracks.

Surfaced only as a named figure in Sutton's 1883 paper's title; no primary by or about Milne himself has been read yet.
