An 1844 illustrated survey of North East England collieries, cited by T. E. Forster's 1930 "Collieries and the Coal Trade" chapter (in Hope Dodds's *Northumberland County History* Vol. 13) as the source for its account of an 1745 water crisis at the Heaton colliery ("Hair's Views of the Collieries, 1844, p. 20"). Not read by this vault; one documentary layer further back than either of the two primaries ([[entity-les-turnbull|Turnbull 2009]], [[entity-madeleine-hope-dodds|Hope Dodds 1930]]) the governing question tasked checking.
