A 2021 profile of [[entity-liang-zhongtang|Liang Zhongtang]], covering his
career from 1979 to the 2015 two-child-policy reform, republished by China
Digital Times after censorship of the original platform, states in its own
voice: "He also opposed Song Jian's 'cybernetics of population control,'
viewing it as pretentious pseudo-science, hastily calculated, that failed to
account for many real-world factors." This is reported speech — the
profile's characterization of Liang's view, not a direct quotation from
Liang — and is not sourced to either Liang's 2009 essay or this capture's
other sources.

The characterization sharpens what the vault already has. The 2009 essay's
"arrow loosed from the bow" argument (see
[[claim-liang-2009-frames-song-jian-as-propagandist-not-originator]]) is
about *timing* — the policy predates Song's projections. This profile
attributes to Liang a *methodological* dismissal — the projections
themselves are bad science — extending, without duplicating, the existing
"propagandist, not originator" reading with a different angle: method
quality rather than causal sequence.
