A [[entity-liang-zhongtang|Liang Zhongtang]] text titled "马寅初事件始末" ("The
Full Story of the Ma Yinchu Incident"), carried on aisixiang.com, shares its
exact title with one of the two chapters a Douban review identifies as the
most-discussed content of Liang's 2014 monograph 中国计划生育政策史论 (see
[[claim-liang-2014-book-most-discussed-content-is-ma-yinchu-not-song-jian]]).
The roughly 4,000-character essay argues that the Chinese Communist Party and
Mao Zedong did not personally persecute [[entity-ma-yinchu|Ma Yinchu]] for his
*New Population Theory*, concluding instead that "the key to understanding
the Ma Yinchu incident is that Ma Yinchu had already fused himself with the
Communist Party from the Republic's founding onward, constantly
propagandizing for Party and government policy wherever he could."
[[entity-song-jian|Song Jian]] is not named anywhere in the essay's text.

Two links in the chain from this text to the book chapter are open, not one.
No chapter attribution appears on the aisixiang page, so identity with the
2014 chapter rests on a title match alone. And this text is not itself the
journal article of that name: its first sentence places it *after* a
same-titled essay of Liang's appeared in 《中共山西省委党校学报》 (2011, issue 5),
and the page footer attributes it to the author's blog rather than the
journal — it is a companion piece answering Xu Wenlu's (徐文路) 2008 Taiwan
dissertation 《马寅初事件的多重解读》. So this reading corroborates, rather than
replaces, the prior secondhand inference. What it does establish directly is
that a primary text by Liang under that exact title, on that exact subject,
has no use for Song Jian at all — closing part of the gap a
Douban-review-only reading left open.
