Modern archival reconstruction of Briquet's working method — Neil Harris and Ilaria Pastrolin's "Briquet Reloaded" (2018), a project returning to Briquet's original documents and unpublished tracings — reports that this entry is sourced to the Bologna archive, where most of [[entity-charles-moise-briquet|Briquet]]'s references carry only the generic notation "Podestà" with no further pressmark, and that it has "proved impossible (up to now)" to locate the original document behind it.

Two problems compound. First, the entry's own date carried a question mark — Harris and Pastrolin describe Briquet 5410 as "a Greek cross dated '1282', albeit with a question mark," i.e. Briquet recorded the date as uncertain when he catalogued it.
